This two-way Q&A will establish our comprehensive journey together as I help to prepare you for your beekeeping experience.

Topic #1: Tools of the Trade

This lesson covers the four most widely used tools that you will use the most. There are tons of things made for beekeepers but most are overkill and not required. We will also cover the BEST protective gear for you and where to get everything you need.

Topic #2: Beekeeping Equipment

We’ve got to put some bees in some boxes right? Well this lesson will leave you familiar with the components of the hive from top to bottom. This familiarity will set the stage for understanding how to manage the equipment best for your bees.

Topic #3: Apiary Location

It’s fun to plan where you will put your beehives before you get them. This lesson covers The 5 Zones of Operation and The 5 Considerations of Apiary Location.

Not only will you discover the BEST place for your bees but we will also discuss hive stands; what you place your hives on will help to make your work streamlined and enjoyable.

Topic #4: Getting your First Bees

There are several ways to get bees and we will find the best that works for you and your goals. More so, I will help you to source local bees with regards to your location.

Topping off this lesson, we will equip you with how to be ready for pickup on the day your bees are ready to bring home.

Topic #5: Installing your First Honey bees

Now it’s time to cover how to successfully setup your colonies not only for your own benefit but with the best interest of the bees in mind as well.

But we don’t leave you there, because we will also discuss what to expect for the first month as you help your bees establish themselves in their new home.

The one who thinks he can and the one who thinks he cannot are both right.
